Terrible company, STAY AWAY! Patrick, the owner, is a cheat, liar and fraud. He is terrible with communication and will try to get the most money out of you while doing the least amount of work possible. He was awful about maintaining the premises and on the rare occasion he followed through on a work order, he sent over a sketchy contractor who overcharged and did a poor job on repairs. The company is a nightmare!

If I could rated Citadel Realty lower than 1 star, I would have. We rented a home from them for over 2 years. During that time, they refused to fix things like showers and bathroom walls falling apart due to water damage and mold (caused by the homeowner.) It took them about 8 months to get a new dishwasher installed after promising it would be no longer than a couple weeks. The yard was disgusting when we got there, chewed up dog toys, paper, clothes, trash and stuff left by the owner that we had to clean, JUST to be able to walk through the yard. They also promised, at the time of move in, to fix the sprinkler system, which of course was never done the entire time we lived there. When it rained the ceiling would get soggy, due to a leak in the roof, which they sent someone to look at and decided the owner didn't want to fix. What this boils down to is the lies that Citadel tells to get what they want. The owner, Patrick, is not a man of his word. He made multiple promises to fix things and never did. We had to relocate to another area for a job, so my husband and I both talked to pat, over the phone, and told him we had to break our 3 year lease (with only 9 months left on it) because my husband had been laid off and and had a job offer in another town. We were aware that our lease stated that there was an early lease termination fee and asked pat about it. He assured us that we would have NO charges because we were leaving for work "no big deal, just turn in your 30 days notice as soon as possible, it'll be just like you were at the end of your lease, and I will let you out." He also said that he was happy we were leaving early because they wanted to raise the rent. (another lie, found out later the rent was never raised) He also promised to give us a good reference letter, which we deserved, always being punctual about paying our rent and even fixing things in the house that weren't our responsibility, but they refused to fix. We never received that either. We also didn't receive our whole deposit because he kept 60%, a fee for breaking our lease. He cowardly refused to return any of our phone calls. When we asked about why he had told us one thing, but was going against his word, all we were told was "because he can, the lease says he can." We wouldn't have even been upset about it had he been upfront and honest about the fee. That yes, he would be following through with that. And to top off the long list of why not to rent from Citadel: They make you show your own house when you have given your notice! They give out your number to perfect strangers and have them set up a showing with you, the RENTER! So, in conclusion, if you want to be lied to, taken advantage of, live in an unsafe, run down home that doesn't get taken care of (but you're paying top dollar for), cheated out of your deposit (even though you clean the place & carpets WAAAAY cleaner than it's ever been), and lied to some more, then go with Citadel Realty Inc.
