  1. Don't waste your money
    1.5 years into the process and terrible results. I signed up for both underarms and legs and still have to shave as much as before. I am well into my "one year guarantee" and I've been totally let down. Also, the conned me into vella shape which didn't work at all. All the processes are time consuming and painful, not to mention expensive. I actually gained inches on vella shape. Plus, they have a $75 cancellation fee though when they cancel on you (2 x), they don't even acknowledge the double-standard - yes, you guessed it, no $75 for me. Also, all the while the treatments are not working, they are trying to sell you additional packages - it is infuriating! save your money! (youngkat, 10/28/2009)

  2. RIP OFF
    I went into thier office to inquire about laser hair removal. This place is like a used car lot! The sales people are pushy, shady, and rude when you show reluctence. I say don't waste your time in here, it's also super expensive. Luckily I went here after having treatments somewhere else, I wasn't immpressed at all by their sales tactics. They tried to tell me how other places would lie to me and tell me my hair wouldn't grow back and it would, and spent more time talking about how great their company was than anything else. Try Skin Solutions on Speer and Washington.. Their treatments are quick, moderately priced ($60 each or 6 treatments for $300) you can buy single treatments or packages.   3. DON"T DO IT!
    I have been visiting the ALC of boulder for a few months for IPL photofacials and microdermabrasion... this package is EXPENSIVE and the results are nowhere to be seen. I will be paying for this through their "credit care " card long after my appointments and my skin is no better for the time or the money I have spent. Beside the unprofessionalism, (I have waited outside the office for booked appointments and nobody was there) and when I voiced my disappointment to the technician she empathetically replied, "awwwwwwww...." I wanted to believe.... please, don't patronize this company and make the same mistake I did. Go to a professional. (eaglewoman, 03/04/2008)

  4. Just not getting results
    I'm on my 6th treatment for lower legs and have not seen a difference. The technician promises that the nth treatment is where "customers always see results" where n is the treatment that I'm on....no changes have been made in settings to try to vary the results because the laser is supposedly self adjusting to the treatment area and conditions. I'm fair skinned with medium brown hair, supposedly the "ideal candidate". Several times the technician working on me has told me to "hold on" because the laser is overheating. This, to me, is the sign of poor equipment. The problem is, they have a "no refund" policy so it looks like I am just out $1300. Can't say I'm totally thrilled, as so far it seems that this has been a waste of about 12 hours of my time plus the cost of the treatment. Although their two year guarantee sounds great, it doesn't mean a lot if the original treatment was not carried out successfully.   6. Evasive = incompetence?
    I have to preface that I was lured into my free consultation by the possibility of getting a discount on fotofacial services. I was told questions would be answered at my consultation. I wrongly assumed that the consultation would be specific to my skin. Having not ever experienced and not having researched any information prior to my consultation, I was under the impression I would be given more in depth information at my appointment. As a woman of color, I wanted to know the downsides of the procedure but was answered evasively to more than one question. To me this indicates some level of incompetence (1) whether that be the business itself being unresponsible in educating their office manager (no my consultation was not with the aesthetician) or (2) implied lack of knowledge overall from the entire facility. My instincts told me NOT to trust this business with my face!! My "consultation" lasted 10 minutes at best; I could not get out of there fast enough and will be looking elsewhere to fulfill this service!!!!! (prmdoc, 08/31/2006)

  7. Finally some honesty about laser hair remmoval
    The staff at American Laser Centers is extremely honest and knowledgable. Before I went to American Laser Centers I had had 12 treatments at a spa with no results. After I had spent over $1000 on laser hair removal at the spa, I was told that the amount of time I was told to wait inbetween treatments didnt even make sense and that the reason I was given a lower price per treatment was because they knew I would have to come back numerous times. Not only that but they are the only place that gives you a guarantee! I am on my 3rd treatment with them and I hardly have to shave at all! (nicole37, 11/08/2005)
